Vintage Shenango B. & O. Railroad commemorative plate featuring Harper's Valley, West Virginia. The scenes commemorate the first stone laid on July 4, 1828. The Baltimore and Ohio Railroad trains transported passengers and cargo from 1827 - 1978. Railroad china, once used for fine dining in the lounges and food cars on the trains, has now become popular with collectors. Being served an elaborate meal on a moving train was a luxurious treat. This beautiful plate is 10 1/2" diameter and is in excellent condition. No chips, cracks, scratches or crazing.
